Major Optimization Improvements Coming To Wayfinder

Wayfinder has released its latest patch preview, and this time it's all about optimization of the MMO. They are focusing their efforts on six major changes to help the game perform better.

First up is shader precompilation. Shader precompilation will now happen on startup instead of when you encounter content, reducing hitching, stuttering, and input lag when encountering certain abilities, enemies, and biomes.

Next is Skylight and Highlands asset optimization, where they have "trimmed the fat" of assets that were causing unnecessary processing burdens.

A lighting overhaul will change the way lighting is processed, significantly lowering the processor burden when rendering illuminated areas.

Quality and Performance modes are being added to the PS5 version of the game, allowing players to choose between higher graphical fidelity or improved frame rate.

Asset loading will be seeing improvement with this update, with a greater impact on machines close to the minimum requirement.

And finally, backend inventory optimizations improve the net code for inventory tracking in an effort to reduce server transaction loads.

Overall it sounds like a good patch that should help improve performance in Wayfinder and help provide a much smoother experience.
