Microsoft Undergoes Another Round Of Layoffs, The Second Of 2025 Already
The numbers haven’t been revealed, but reports are that it includes gaming staff.
Microsoft has undergone more layoffs according to a report published today. The report, which broke on Business Insider and was later shared by Video Games Chronicle, does not specify the number of individuals impacted by the layoffs. Rather it states that a spokesperson said that they were “small in number”. The information they have is that they were across several divisions, including security, sales, and gaming.
This is the second set of layoffs in 2025 as the company confirmed cuts on January 8. Last week’s cuts were reportedly performance-based, impacting individuals that the company felt were under-performing.
This news comes four months after layoffs at Xbox affecting 650 staff – one of many layoffs that impacted the company’s various gaming studios throughout 2024.
We certainly hope all impacted employees land on their feet quickly.
