Military History Film Animation Studio Yarnhub Reveals Its First Game: Brass Rain
The World War II game will feature historically grounded missions and campaigns.

Military history fans are likely familiar with the name Yarnhub – the animation studio responsible for popular military history films on YouTube. Today, the studio has officially become a game developer, announcing its first title, Brass Rain. As you’d expect from a maker of military history films, the company – which received $2.9 million from over 5,000 fans via crowdfunding – has worked to create a game featuring authentic WWII weapons, uniforms, and more. The game’s missions and campaigns are historically based and feature “crew-based infantry combat grounded in real-world history.”
The free-to-play game will feature everything from Normandy to battles over the Pacific, all featuring the cinematic quality viewers of Yarnhub’s YouTube channel are familiar with. It also adds one thing many war games don’t have: “boots-on-the-ground infantry”. The game will also be integrated with the YouTube channel, meaning players can expect short films tied to every update, highlighting not just new heroes and vehicles but offering historical context and insight as well. As for the development of the game itself, the studio is filled with veterans from studios like EA, Jagex, Sony, and Remedy.
Those interested in checking out Brass Rain can head to the Steam page, where it’s available to wishlist. If you’re unfamiliar with Yarnhub’s videos, we also suggest checking out their YouTube channel.
