The next Hearthstone expansion has been revealed! Whispers of the Old Gods gives the game a touch of Lovecraftian horror and a slew of cards with tricky effects that might seem good at first glance but will play games with your sanity. And your game.

The third Hearthstone expansion adds 134 cards to Blizzard's CCG, including several twisted twists on old favorites and the four legendary Old Gods themselves: C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, Y'Shaarj, and N'Zoth. C'Thun and two Beckoner of Evil cards await all players in the first Old Gods card pack they open. Whether that's good or bad is still up for debate...

Whispers of the Old Gods will arrive in Hearthstone in late April or early May, but you can pre-purchase a batch of 50 packs on Monday the 14th for $49.99, which also nets you a card back that's quite an eyeful. Whether you buy or not, you'll get three packs of the expansion for free just for logging in when it goes live. And as a reminder, when Old Gods goes live, Blizzard will introduce the Standard format to the game and rotate out old card sets, which was announced last month.

You can learn more about the expansion on the main Hearthstone site and the dedicated Old Gods website. N'garl u'ngr'ala C'Thun!
