No, The Day Before Wasn't Back On Steam Today, That Was A Scam
It's gone from Steam now, but the game has had multiple previous names.
Funny...today's The Day Before news/fiasco doesn't actually come from FNTASTIC, Mytona, or the doomed-from-the-start zombie survival game.
Earlier today, The Day Before appeared on Steam again for the low, low price of $5.99 and less than 25% of the original install size.
A bargain!
Except, yeah, as you probably could have seen right away, this was just a scam.
Turns out it was a game previously bearing the name "Carrot the Cat" that released on Steam about 4 months before The Day Before released. It then name changed names a few days ago to "GTA Brasil" then became "The Day Before" today.
PCGamer's Andy Chalk actually checked the file out only to find out it didn't even do anything and, despite claiming it was the "codename for the return of The Day Before" it wasn't, and MYTONA confirmed that to Chalk in a statement saying, "MytonaFntastic has no affiliation with this page." MYTONA said they would reach out to Steam.
Later, the page was removed from Steam, but I can't help but wonder how many dropped six bucks to see what was really going on...or how this was even possible on Steam's side.
