Black Desert Online 3v3 Arena

Today, PvP fans in Black Desert Online will be able to get their first taste of seasonal content. A new update dropped this morning, kicking off the first ever season of Arena of Solare – 3v3 PvP battles.

The update introduces three new maps; the Manshaum Forest, Jade Starlight Forest, and Cadry Ruins. These are added to the already existing roster of Arena of Solare maps. The first map is pretty much what it sounds like, a lush woodland area. The Jade Starlight Forest is less a forest than an open field. Finally, Cadry Ruins pits players against each other in an ancient amphitheater.

New maps aren’t all that’s being added in the latest update. Players will also find an improved rank page that allows the player to easily check not only their own but other players’ information. That includes class ranking, skills, and gear.

And what’s a PvP season without rewards? Starting today and running through August 24, players that log in will receive a selection of daily rewards including an item named Glory of Solare. That particular item allows players to obtain consumables. They’ll also receive Value Packs that add game buffs to characters.

A different set of rewards will be made available to players that place in the top three by the time the event ends on September 14, including a special outfit box. There will also be weekly events starting today and ending on October 12. Each week, players that win three times in Ranked Mode will receive enhancement materials.

Those of you who want to get a taste of ranked mode will be able to go in for the first time today at 3:00 pm Pacific. The mode is not available on a 24/7 basis, but instead will be accessible from 3-10 pm Pacific Monday through Friday and from noon-11 pm Pacific on Saturday and Sunday.

*UPDATE*

We received an update to Pearl Abyss' press release later in the day detailing two other items of note for the upcoming mode. First, the company is adding a practice mode so that players may train for the arena without having it impact their rank. Second, It will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3-10 pm Pacific rather than Monday-Friday. Weekends are the same as above. As for Tuesday and Thursday, the first is reserved for Practice mode while Thursday will be a day off.
