PlanetSide 2's Water Continent Oshur Delayed Until January
Also, hunt snowmen in the yearly Auraximas festival.
'Tis the season of giving -- but also the season of taking away, if you're a PlanetSide 2 fan.
The bad news first: The new water continent, Oshur, was originally scheduled to appear in the game this week, but those plans have changed. "After reassessing the remaining work, and accounting for time off during the holiday season, the earliest we're looking to release Oshur at this point would be January," lead designer Michael "Wrel" Henderson wrote in a blog post last week.
In the meantime, you can check out how water mechanics are progressing in this article, which includes tweaks to "ocean-side foam," "underwater sky-files," and "armored attack dolphins." OK, I made that last one up, but wouldn't those be cool?
In better news, it's Auraximas time again in PlanetSide 2, and this year's festival once again has soldiers competing to blow up snowmen for XP and completing missions to earn holiday-themed rewards. Every weekend (Saturday through Monday) this month is also a double XP weekend for free and VIP players alike, and there are plenty of discounts on bundles in the shop.
