Square Enix Announces Date For The Next Final Fantasy XIV Live Letter
Maybe this will be the one where they tell us more about those islands.
It hasn’t been that long since the Final Fantasy XIV team dropped patch 6.15, adding the first of Endwalker’s Tribe quests as well as several story-centric quest lines and the first round of the expansion’s custom deliveries. At this point, most of us have already worked our way through the Tataru, Hildibrand, and Omega story content and are (likely) hard at work running errands for the Arkasodara and Ameliance.
At this point, there’s only one item left on the 6.1 roadmap, and that’s Data Center Travel – supposedly coming in Patch 6.18. With almost everything outlined for us so far out of the way, that means the team has been hard at work on whatever is supposed to come next. Luckily for us, that won’t remain too much of a mystery for long. Today, Square Enix announced that the Letter from the Producer Live Part LXXI will be airing on YouTube, Twitch, and Niconico on July 1. Of course, this will be in Japan so it’ll mean an early morning for those of us who want to catch it live. We’re looking at 7:00 am Eastern and 4:00 am Pacific.
The announcement doesn’t say exactly what the stream will cover other than a vague “Patch 6.2 Part 1” and “Miscellaneous Updates”. Of course, we can make some guesses – like the next part of the Pandemonium raids. And, since 6.2 means a whole range of patches, they could also reveal the next tribe quests and some more storylines, as well as whatever changes they may or may not make to PvP this time. Perhaps we’ll even get some info on the Island Sanctuaries. There are definitely people waiting to see what those will amount to.
In the meantime, there’s still stuff happening right now. The Make it Rain Campaign is getting ready to come to a close, so if you haven’t done the (incredibly easy) quest and snagged your emotes, do that. Also, a free login campaign is running until the end of the month. This is one of those events designed to encourage players to come back to the game and they’re offering 96 hours of playtime for those people to get a feel for how things are now.
