Killer Instinct turns 10 years old this year on November 22.

The fighting game is set to make a significant return with a surprise free 10th anniversary update, an announcement that was made during EVO 2023. It will bring enhancements specifically for Xbox Series X|S, including support for 4K resolution. The update will also be handled by the original developer, Iron Galaxy, and will introduce a balance patch along with improved matchmaking, positioning Killer Instinct for the next generation of players.

In case you weren’t aware, Killer Instinct hasn’t seen a major update in over six years. Despite being released 10 years ago, the game remains beloved amongst fans. Back in 2017, Killer Instinct launched on Steam. However, the all-time peak barely scratched 700 players, and the game currently sees a 24-hour peak of just over 50.
