SWTOR Delays Galactic Season 3 Launch Due To Data Issues During Maintenance, Releases Tomorrow
"Galactic Season 3 is not starting with today's patch and will be effectively 'turned off'."
BioWare hoped to roll out the new Galactic Season 3 with patch 7.1.1. in Star Wars: The Old Republic but encountered a data issue during their maintenance testing window. To ensure players have the best possible experience, "Galactic Season 3 is not starting with today's patch and will be effectively 'turned off.'"
But if you've been waiting for the new season, we've got good news. The devs were happy to report in a recent update on their forums that Galactic Season 3 will launch tomorrow. Between 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Central Time is a rough estimation of when players should expect server downtime so BioWare can patch it in. Any further updates will be on their ongoing thread should things go awry.
Player reception to the news has been very agreeable on Twitter, but the implementation of patch 7.1.1. itself has been less than stellar according to fans. Crashes, bugs, and the like have been described under their live announcement for the new patch in a separate post. However, to see a quick turnaround on Galactic Season 3 - one of the biggest highlights for the patch - it's great to see BioWare on top of it and, hopefully, nothing goes wrong tomorrow.
