Star Wars: The Old Republic Reveals Update 7.8 “Pursuit of Ruin” Continues The Game’s Story A Year And A Half Later
The update will expand on the Galactic Threads story and add new Dynamic Encounters.

New content will be dropping in Star Wars: The Old Republic sometime in the next few weeks. Broadsword revealed the free-to-play MMORPG’s Update 7.8 “Pursuit of Ruin” in a livestream this week, highlighting some of the things players can look forward to. After a year and a half, the update continues the Galactic Thread storyline, picking up where the events of Desperate Defiance left off. Players and their allies will look into Shae’s betrayal as well as other issues like Darth Nul’s holocron and the Hidden Chain. Of course, there’s Darth Malgus to deal with as well.
In addition to the new story content, players can also look forward to new Dynamic Encounters. In these encounters, players will investigate a ship that has crashed on Dantooine. This might sound like a small task, but the crash has caused the ship’s systems to malfunction, and three of the biomes it has been sustaining have grown significantly, resulting in a change of Dantooine’s environment. Completing encounters will level up the various biomes being explored, and that will unlock even more encounters. Of course, there will be rewards, including armors, decorations, mounts, minipets, and more.
The new update also means a new PvP season. This season will last for 16 weeks and provide players with a variety of rewards, including a new jetpack mount.
