The Dark Ride Continues In MapleStory With Dark Holiday Events And A New Boss

A new update has arrived in MapleStory, continuing The Dark Ride with the introduction of the new boss, Limbo. The “arcane presence” has been working to make its way to the Source, managing to do so by creating a space near it. Now, players of the MMORPG must enter that space and stop him, before he succeeds in his machinations.

In addition to the new boss, the update also kicks off a twisted holiday event, Dark Maplemas. Imagine a Maplemas that has been co-opted by dark entities. The festivities still exist, but with a dark twist.

This year's events include things like the Slay Ride, a race in the snow littered with tombstones and coffins players will need to avoid in order to deliver presents. There’s also an activity where players must fend off invaders with a laser, another featuring a very hungry tree, and yet another with an angry snowman. Honestly, it might all be a pretty solid reflection of how some people feel about the holidays.
