Trove Green Game Jam

As part of their commitment to the environment and their new alliance with Playing for the Planet, gamigo announced a new in-game event for the voxel game Trove. Titled “Grovin’ and Trovin’” the event kicked off today and will run until July 5. During this event, players have the opportunity to earn special seeds, the “Hyper Tree Friend” and the “Tree Sapling” seeds. The good news is that there’s more than one way to do it.

The easiest way to get these items is by using a special code – that we happen to have right here. Simply use TROVETREE in the code redemption page on the game’s website and you’ll receive both seeds. If for some reason you don’t want to do that and would rather go the more difficult route there are two other options.

First, you can watch Trove streams on Twitch for those Twitch Drops. (Honestly, on that one, just use the code. It’s. Right. There.) The other way is more traditional – in-game farming. Yes, you can dungeon crawl for the seeds. If you choose one of the non-code options, this is probably the more respectable choice, honestly.

In addition to getting some new in-game tree seeds, players also have the opportunity to work together and plant trees in-game. (Remember, the entire purpose of this is to raise environmental awareness, both in-game and out.) The goal is to plant a million trees in-game. Should this be achieved, all players will be gifted a “Sappling Sower”. This will only happen if everyone works together.
