Webzen Announces The Return Of A Previously Available MMORPG As New-Ish "SUN Classic"
If you were a fan of 2006’s Soul of the Ultimate Nation, this is for you.
Today, Webzen announced plans to launch a new PC-based MMORPG titled SUN Classic. The upcoming game isn’t "new" new. Instead, it’s a recreation of 2006’s Soul of the Ultimate Nation. This means it contains the original game’s main content while offering a fresh start for players – as well as several improvements. Said improvements include a faster leveling system and optimization for graphics and the UI, among other things.
In addition to announcing the new game, Webzen also revealed the game’s soundtrack is composed by Howard Shore. You fantasy fans should recognize him from his scores for The Lord of the Rings. The soundtrack is intended to bring back some of the feeling of playing the original game. If you’re interested, you can find the track on Webzen’s YouTube channel. (Or, I’ll just be nice and drop the playlist below.)
Unfortunately, SUN Classic won’t be available in most regions immediately. Currently, Webzen is launching it in Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea, with language support for those three countries. They do plan to expand service to other regions in the future – beginning with Southeast Asia.
