World of Tanks 2.0

World of Tanks has rolled out Update 2.0. This update introduces a bunch of new content and improvements designed to elevate the experience for both longtime players and newcomers of the free-to-play shooter. There’s 16 new Tier XI tanks — which is a first — each offering distinctive gameplay mechanics and a fresh progression system. And, a massive rebalance has been carried out across over 350 vehicles — fine-tuning roles and ensuring more competitive, fair gameplay.

The update also refreshes the game’s presentation and functionality. A completely redesigned Hangar now doubles as a tank factory where vehicles are prepped for battle, while the streamlined user interface makes navigating the game smoother and more intuitive. The matchmaking system has been rebuilt from the ground up as well, delivering faster queue times, fairer team composition, and more dynamic combat.

Additionally, the long-requested Nordskar as been added; it’s a Scandinavian-inspired map that promises new tactical opportunities. For players who enjoy narrative-driven experiences, the new PvE event “Operation Boiling Point” introduces a story-focused scenario that lets commanders test Tier XI vehicles on a brand-new battlefield. Sound design has been upgraded too with more authentic recordings to create a more immersive atmosphere.

To celebrate the launch, every player logging in between now and mid-October will receive lots of rewards. Veteran commanders who joined before Update 2.0 will claim a complete Tech Tree branch (Tier VI–X), a package of resources, and extended Premium Account access. New recruits will receive two Tech Tree branches, three premium tanks, credits, and bonuses to jumpstart their journey. Players who already own all Tier VI–X vehicles will be honored with exclusive recognition.
