Let's be honest: When you see a headline like "Transformers join the battle in World of Warships," you're not thinking of paint jobs on existing ships and robotic commanders -- you want actual transforming battleships. That tech doesn't exist yet, sadly, so we'll have to make do with Wargaming's latest collaborative effect, this time with Hasbro.

Four ships are part of the promotion, one each representing Megatron, Rumble (on the Decepticon side), Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee (on the Autobot side). Their corresponding ships have slick paint jobs and the commanders' voices are ... well, adequate. With all the other famous people Wargaming has teamed up with, you'd think they'd be able to land the canon voice actors from the series or movies. Prime's actor gives his best go at Peter Cullen's iconic baritone, but it's just not the same.

The Transfomers ships will come to World of Warships and World of Warships: Legends in September. Players will be able to pick up their faves while also earning special Transformers containers, camouflages, flags, patches, and more. Learn more about the promotion on the Warships site.

I'd be all over this if the cost for high tier stuff in WG games were halfway reasonable. On a side note, I learned that World of Warships is a dumbed-down derivative of Battlestations: Pacific.
