With War Thunder’s controllable navy feature still a ways off and Wargaming.net’s World of Warships release still a ways off (heck they haven’t even launched World of Warplanes yet), there is a niche void to be filled for those who desire a F2P naval warfare MMO. Queue Navy Field 2 from Nexon, an MMORTS which focuses exclusively on naval engagements.

Details are sparse at the moment, but we do know that players will have access to over 500 ships from World War 1 and II spread across 7 nations. The ships themselves can be customized with a variety of weapons and armor enhancements. The MMORTS is focused on large scale battles with players clashing with up to 64 participants. That’s quite the confrontation.

The closed beta is set for March 27th with signups available now. The beta itself is scheduled to run until April 10th. You can check out the official teaser site and signup for the beta here.

  1. Most of the comments here complain about Ip Blocks. I mean, come on. Im from europe and im sorry that u cant play the game because of that but…
Is it fun for you, to play with laggers? Is it fun to play with a 1 sec delay of even longer?
No,its not. I have nothing against any ppl. I only hate to play against or with ppl from Portugal and brazil. Not because i dont like them. Just because they lag the whole game and that is really killing a game. Most of them dont speak english so that can also be very annyoing in a team game. (pointing out LoL and brawl busters…)

    • taking in midn what u said though it prevents me to play with my 20-30 cyber friends who live outside europe ik most of people play a game to play a game if they see they like it but i personally play a game only if i got someone to play with in particular my friends and since most of my cyber friends are either from canada or US i would prefer playin something without ip blocks and have them on my team lagging or having delays

  2. Nexon is worst company by far .. IP blocking and stealing ideas from wargaming.net …

Come up with something original copy cats!

  3. i hate judging games cause of their companies but i do not approve of companies like nexon that have ip blocs for other players outside europe or have ip block for even some europe countries by putting ip block for me its like u killing 50% of the players u will get into your game idk if thats the case but thats how i feel

I am interested in battleships mmorpg so i will try this but i wont have my hopes up much since its Nexon i quess time can only tell

    • I am not the kind of person who hates games for they company, it’s just that me and nexon have a long story of annoyance. After all I wouldn’t even bother seeing anything about any game if I didn’t like it. I played for a long time Mabinogi and Dungeon Fighter, using programs to get past the Ip Block but always getting some lag or just being annoyed by the process that had to be done every time. I will be a ignorant fag this time and not even look at this game and assume it is bad, will be looking forward for world of battleships and even more to Warthunder, that I believe will be more interesting.
