Battlefield 2042 Podcast

If you missed the class system in Battlefield 2042, it’s coming back. It seems that introducing specialists at launch was upsetting to many players as they felt a loss of class identity. Not to mention it messed with the gameplay that players were familiar with. There’s been a good bit of discussion about how to introduce classes and finally, that time has come.

Of course, re-introducing a class system means changing how the game has been played for a while. That’s all the way down to things like gadgets and equipment being attached to the class of the player’s choosing.

In the first episode of ‘Inside Battlefield’, DICE’s Community Manager Tom Straatman hosts Lead Game Designer Florian Le Bihan and Tech Lead Oliver Andersen as they discuss these upcoming changes and how they came to be. Unlike a lot of developer casts, this one is not on YouTube, you’ll need to hit up one of the apps listed on the game’s site. If you’d rather read about the updates, there’s a post available on the site as well.

its almost as though all this could've been mitigated if EA had listened to players and basically copy/pasted all the good from BF1/BF4/BF3 and made an epic scale game... but no, EA doesn't like to listen to players. their rating is so poor that this new class system stuff wont fix the game itself.
