Another MMORPG has added a battle royale mode. I know, this sounds like a broken record, but … never mind, there is no “but.” I’ve run out of snark.
Today’s lucky winner is Blade & Soul, which will implement the 20-player PvP battle royale mode Shackled Isles tomorrow, March 13, as part of the Legacy of the Hongmoon Clan event. You’ll need to be at least level 55 to participate, and the battles take place just five times daily: at 12:00, 14:00, 17:00, 20:00, and 23:00 Server Time. You’ll have to contend not only with other players but with random boss spawns and the Dark Chi corruption taking the place of the ubiquitous wall of green gas, so make sure to pick up the various boosts that will be sprinkled around the battlefield.
Also coming in tomorrow’s update is the Awakened Raid event, which awards additional prizes for taking down bosses in Skybreak Spire, Scion’s Keep, Temple of Eluvium, and Nightfall Sanctuary. If you’re of a more sociable nature, you can chill out in the Blossoming Soul event. There you can earn Blossom Orbs and Lunar Coins for various prizes, including a sweet Wild Boar Suit.
Wear that sucker into a battle royale and watch your enemies tremble in terror!
This got to stop, we’re on the edge of battle royale mode fuse with genre while gamers just want a casual mmorpg with a great stories, npc, so and so
What is sad is that classic shooter games are losing to the Battle Royale. Instead of seeing new classic shooter games being released, we see more Battle Royale gargabe instead.
I’ve played classic shooters since Counter-Strike 1.0 in 1999 and started playing it seriously in 2010 with Alliance of Valiant Arms and it’s really sad for me to see my favorite games (Demolition, Team Deathmatch, etc.) being put on the backburner for the sake of that Battle Royale trash.
Rather want some optimizations before any unwanted stuff
plz … no 🙁 … its enough already. Battle Royale is boring and deeply hated mode.
