Blizzard Posts Job Openings For Unannounced AAA Open-world Multiplayer RPG
FPS and IP development also mentioned among preferred skills.

Blizzard has listed some interesting job postings on its careers page for an "unannounced project" that appears to check several of the boxes for what could be the company's next big thing. Three content designer positions -- Associate, Senior, and Lead -- point at several tantalizing details that, if they come to fruition, could lead to a major new release at some point over the next few years.
The posts refer to "an unannounced AAA multiplayer project," with candidates needing to possess experience in creating "open-world or emergent gameplay content for modern AAA multiplayer titles." The Associate Content Designer also needs to possess an "Understanding of RPG reward mechanics," while "Experience working on an FPS game" and "Previous design experience for Online / Multiplayer games" are listed as plusses.
Add all that up and you get a multiplayer AAA RPG FPS -- which is enough alphabet soup to open your own restaurant. That might be the form the final product takes, or it might just be Blizzard covering all its bases and looking for developers with a wide variety of skills so it can take things in whatever direction is needed. After all, one of the listings also calls for the applicant to "Embrace Blizzard's core value of 'Every voice matters,' creating a safe space for collaboration, communication, and creativity across all disciplines and departments," and we know that's bullshit, so everything in the job listings can be taken with a grain of salt.
In particular, the aborted project Titan was considered to match most of these same checkmarks, and that wound up being cancelled and repurposed into what eventually became Overwatch. Still, considering how long in the tooth World of Warcraft is getting, and the slight resurgence of full-featured MMORPGs we're seeing with New World and Riot's upcoming League of Legends MMO, it's not inconceivable that Blizzard -- or whatever passes for Blizzard in the near future -- might really commit to this kind of project.
