Dance Parties And Cat Rescues: Champions Online Gears Up To Celebrate Nine-Year Anniversary

Like any good superhero with a secret identity, Champions Online is keeping the true nature of its upcoming ninth anniversary celebration close to its vest.

The announcement on the website lays out the basics of the festivities. On Aug. 30, there will be a concert and a giant cake, with new challenges and new rewards, "including a new way to transform your character." You'll also have a chance to fulfill your true destiny as you rescue cats from trees and earn rewards from grateful citizens.

And those rewards are ... well, your guess is as good as mine. Perfect World and Cryptic aren't ready to reveal those, apparently, nor are they willing to go into detail regarding the character-transforming rewards. So for now, enjoy this pre-announcement before the real announcement, which, if we're really lucky, might be followed by a post-announcement!
