DayZ Runs Hot And Cold In The Upcoming Frostline Expansion
Explore a volcanic archipelago and frosty seas.
The environment is not going to work in players’ favor when DayZ’s Frostline expansion launches. The content update coming to the zombie survival game sometime in the later part of the year will introduce the Sakhal archipelago. This new 83-square-kilometer map is filled with treacherous terrain, including volcanic land and frozen seas.
Frostline differs from previous DayZ content in that players are looking to join a safe haven in Sakhal. Unfortunately, the place isn’t exactly hospitable to humans, with the land being just as much of a danger as zombies or other survivors lurking about. Between the cold and the danger that comes along with having active volcanoes nearby, things will be challenging.
In order to survive on this map, players will have to adapt, figuring out ways to beat the cold. Luckily, there are winter-themed cosmetics to help with that, but players will want to be prepared before stepping foot on Sakhal.
