Dune: Awakening Comes To PC May 20th But You Can Create Your Character Right Now, Pre-Orders Coming Soon
There's even a knife skin reward for using the creator and benchmark test.
PC Players only have a few more months to go and then they'll be able to hit the sands of Arrakis in Funcom's Dune: Awakening. The survival game drops on Steam on May 20th, with pre-orders starting soon. The base game will set you back $49.99, and pre-ordering it will score you a Terrarium of Muad’Dib base decoration item which houses a cute little desert mouse.
You don't have to wait until May to get started in the survival game, though. Right now you can head to Steam and download the benchmark test (and see a few in-game scenes thanks to it) and the character creator. In the character creator, you'll obviously pick your full look, but you'll also decide on your home planet, caste, and your Mentor. That last choice really decides what "class" you'll be when you're first running from Sandworms. However, don't get too tied up on this decision. Once you're in game you'll eventually be able to gain all mentors and abilities so you can mix and match.
If you take the time to create a character, you'll be rewarded with a code to grab a Frameblade knife skin at launch.
Sadly, if you're waiting for a console release date, you'll have to keep waiting. However, the team says it is "coming soon."
Check out the new release date trailer below.
