Halo Layoffs

Amidst Microsoft’s mass layoffs, Halo Infinite Developer, Joe Staten, will be leaving 343 Industries and moving to Xbox Publishing. This news comes only a few short months after the Head of Studio Bonnie Ross left 343 Industries.

Bloomberg reporter, Jason Schreier, revealed that the Halo Infinite Creative Director, Joseph Staten, will soon transition from his role at 343 Industries and rejoin Xbox's publishing division. Staten originally joined the team at 343 Industries in 2020 with the goal of helping to improve the Halo Infinite title that had been struggling for some time.

Staten’s departure aligns with Microsoft’s sudden announcement of mass layoffs which, according to a report from Lords of Gaming, several employees had indicated that 343 Industries had been heavily affected as at least 60 people at 343 Industries had been laid off from the Redmond, Washington-based developer. This is a large portion of the 450 people workforce. According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, these layoffs are part of a larger scale of layoffs at Microsoft, impacting as many as 10,000 employees.
