Long-Running Free-To-Play MMORPG Wizard101 Coming To Xbox, PlayStation, And Nintendo Switch
Xbox and PlayStation launch is October 9, with Nintendo Switch release to follow.
Wizard101 is making its debut on consoles this month, expanding beyond PC after 15 years. KingsIsle Entertainment confirmed that the free-to-play MMORPG will launch on Xbox and PlayStation on October 9, with a Nintendo Switch version to follow at a later, unannounced date.
There are some restrictions, though. Crossplay is enabled across Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch, but PC and console accounts will remain separate — meaning no shared progress, no account transfers, and no ability to swap freely between platforms. Also, console versions will not feature open chat, and each platform’s cash shop will operate independently of PC.
The console version is free-to-play up to the expanded Oasis zone of Krokotopia, after which players can unlock content with Crowns or Access Passes purchased directly through console storefronts.
