MapleStory North America World Merge Set for August 27 (Aurora, Elysium, Scania)

MapleStory will undergo a major world merge on August 27.

Based on player feedback from a recent survey, the free-to-play MMORPG will consolidate the interactive worlds Aurora and Elysium into the legacy world Scania. Bera will remain unaffected. This move is intended to balance server populations, improve the in-game economy, and enhance player engagement while maintaining server stability.

Scania will expand to 30 channels to accommodate the new player base. Affected players will now log into Scania from the world selection screen. Those with more than 58 characters across merged worlds will need to select which characters to display using a temporary UI available through January 2026. Excess characters will not be deleted, only hidden.

Shared features like Storage, Cash Shop, and Auction House will also merge, but excess items or mesos beyond capacity limits will be hidden until space is cleared. Guild names must be unique, and duplicates will be renamed automatically, with guild leaders given the option to change them.

Nexon has also clarified that the Maple Rewards Shop purchase limits will not reset during the merge but will follow the usual monthly schedule.
