PlanetSide 2's New Water Continent Oshur Is Live
Dive right in with a new campaign, new facilities, and a new underwater weapons.
PlanetSide 2's new watery continent of Oshur is now live, bringing the fight to the sea of Auraxis, as well as the land and the air. The first new continent added to the game since Hossin in 2014, Oshur was designed with "an emphasis on logistics and diversity of gameplay" -- but if you just want to splash around in the water, that's cool, too.
All the game's vehicles and weapons have been re-configured for use on or above the water, and there are four new underwater infantry weapons that are specifically designed for underwater use. Other continents will be receiving the same water mechanics in the near future. There's a new campaign chapter as well, which will help acclimate players to the watery environment.
Above the surface, there are a pair of new facilities. Interlink Outposts are small infantry-focused strongpoints, while Trident Relays are spires that reach far into the sky and require aircaft for a proper assault.
