Season 1 Free Content Now Available In Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Including The Phalanx Class
The First Endeavor Pass Is Also Available For Purchase If You Don't Have The Deluxe Version
Today marks the first bit of content to come to Aliens: Fireteam Elite since Cold Iron Studios opened the doors to the buy-to-play, co-op shooter in August. On top of that, if you went ahead and bought the Deluxe Edition on the PC, Playstation 4/5, or XBox Series X/S, then you get all of the new additions for free.
The Season 1 specific content adds 14 new weapons, new cosmetic rewards, and the Phalanx Class and kit that the season is named after. The Phalanx sports a collapsible shield that provides mobile bunker-like protection at the expense of having one arm tied up holding a bigass shield. This means CQW and handguns will be primarily used in the other hand.
The Phalanx class and the new weapons and cosmetic rewards are free to all players, but the update also adds the first Endeavor DLC since launch. The Wey-Yu Armoury DLC package will net you a number of cosmetic items, a challenge card pack, and a credits pack for a single time purchase of $9.99. However, this pack (and some future packs) are free if you bought the Deluxe Edition (or you opt to upgrade your standard version now).
The rest of the patch notes detail additional fixes and changes that also came with this update, but sadly there's still no mention of a "Quick Play" option for queuing up. I have asked the team about this and if they reply I will provide that update here later.
