What happens in Teamfight Tactics, stays in Teamfight Tactics.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) announced its first-ever global LAN tournament, set to take place in Las Vegas in December of this year. The tournament aims to showcase the approachability and diversity of skill in the strategy game’s esports. Players from around the world will have the opportunity to compete in-person at the MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip.

The competition will be played on the upcoming Set 10. For reference, Set 8.5 launched on March 22 and Set 9 is expected to drop on June 14. That means Set 9.5 should be available this fall, with Set 10 releasing before the end of 2023, so players will not even have much time to master the latest set before its time to throw down for all the glory.

As for the event itself though, it will feature an open bracket format with 512 available spots for competitors of all backgrounds. "We want the future of TFT esports to embody approachability and diversity of skill,” said Michael Sherman, Global Head of TFT, on the official website. Details on obtaining one of these limited competitor passes will be shared at a later date, with some priority given to players based on their Set 9 ladder rankings.
