Upcoming Free-To-Play Monster Tamer Game Aniimo Debuts New Trailer At Tokyo Game Show
Weather-based evolutions, dynamic creature interactions, and unique Aniimo behaviors.
During the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast, Kingsglory and Pawprint Studio unveiled a new trailer for Aniimo. The free-to-play open world creature-catching action RPG is slated for release in 2026 across Xbox Series X|S, PC, and mobile platforms.
We were shown a deeper look at the magical world of Idyll, where creatures known as Aniimo coexist with Pathfinders and demonstrate unique behaviors that adapt to their surroundings. From weather-based evolutions to social dynamics between species, the presentation highlighted how central these creatures are to both exploration and combat.
The trailer introduced a variety of Aniimo to demonstrate the game’s ecosystem. One notable example is Stellarys, a rare evolution of Celestis that only occurs during rainy conditions. Unlike its social counterpart, Stellarys wanders the world alone and manipulates water for offense and defense. Owned Celestis do not evolve into Stellarys, meaning players must actively search for Stellarys in the wild to recruit one.
Another spotlighted interaction involved Helgon and Helmut, showcasing predator-prey dynamics that trigger evolution paths. Typically, Helmut transforms into Rookguard, a defensive Aniimo capable of turning into a metal sphere to withstand Helgon attacks. Yet, in exceptional cases, the boldest Helmuts evolve into Pawney, strong enough to challenge Infregon, the leader of the Helgon family.
These examples reflect the game trying to create a living, evolving ecosystem where player choices and environmental conditions influence outcomes.
