That free-to-play Vampire: The Masquerade-based battle royale we learned about last year now has a name. It’s called Bloodhunt, and it’s coming later in 2021 from new studio Sharkmob.

Going by the trailer video, Bloodhunt leans heavy into the “vampire fantasy,” with special powers galore. You’ll be able to choose your clan and customize your look as you prowl the streets of Prague alone or in a three-player squads in 45-player battles and endeavor to “become the ultimate vampire and restore order.”

And what order needs to be restored? Apparently, “a treacherous betrayal has sparked a war amongst vampires, who are also targeted for annihilation by the secret society known as the Entity.” And everyone showing off their powers out in the open, to “restore the masquerade,” naturally.

Anticipating such questioning, Sharkmob actually dedicated one entry in the FAQ to “What about the masquerade?” The answer:

“The entire match session revolves around killing all anarchs, to restore the masquerade. The masquerade also functions as an important game mechanic, where revealing your true nature to the civilians trapped within the lockdown area will expose your location to enemies.”

Bloodhunt will launch in 2021 on PC via Steam. You can learn more about the game, and sign up for its closed alpha in early July, on its website.
