Wacky Battle Royale Totally Accurate Battlegrounds Goes Free-to-play
Landfall's Totally Accurate Battlegrounds launched in June 2018 and was free for its first 100 hours. Yesterday -- and this doesn't appear to be an April Fools' Day joke -- the developer decided to pull the plug on the price tag permanently, making the game free-to-play for good on Steam.
TABG plants up to 60 players in a "fun-sized map" and gives them access to 90 weapons, including the balloon crossbow and inflatable hammer, while introducing wobbly "physics based parkour" and -- look, I can't describe this any better than the video below shows it off. Suffice it to say, this ain't PUBG, or even Fortnite.
In addition to making TABG free-to-play, Landfall also officially launched its Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (a.k.a. TABS) yesterday, which is more of a freeform sandbox title using the same physics engine. That one's available on Steam and Epic Games Store for $19.99, so if you get tired of being an active participant in the carnage, just take a back seat and let the little wobbly men fight each other.
