The long-awaited F-14 Tomcat will finally be in the hands of players in the military action game War Thunder soon, and developer Gaijin Entertainment will bring new military vehicles and maps to the game. Set for mid-June, the Danger Zone update is right around the corner!

The F-14 is a twin-engine variable-sweep wing jet fighter that took to the skies in US carrier-based service from "1974 to 2006." The fighter jet has seen its share of battles in Vietnam, Iraq, and Yugoslavia, sometimes starring in "popular Hollywood movies." In the game, the first modification of the F-14 will be the F-14A, a unit with an "excellent set of air-to-air missiles." Additionally, the F-14A will have the AIM-9H of the G version and the AIM-54A Phoenix, a long-range missile with an active radar guidance system. Lastly, a 20mm M61A1 cannon with a rotating barrel can attack ground targets.

Rolling out with the F-14 Tomcat is the Battlecruiser Hood, commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1920. It has eight 15-inch guns that can deal devastating damage and is supported by an auxiliary battery of seven twin 4-inch all-purpose guns, including 40mm machine guns and torpedo tubes. Outside of the main stars of the update, Danger Zone will introduce two new vehicle tech trees and graphical improvements.
