World Of Tanks PC Comes To Steam, Though You'll Need To Start Fresh
As we learned in February, World of Tanks is now available on Steam, bringing over 600 vehicles from 11 nations onto the biggest PC gaming platform around. As with EA's games, Steam is just being used as an intermediary, as you'll still wind up downloading Wargaming's launcher to play the game. Still, that's worked pretty well for Apex Legends, and Wargaming is probably hoping for similar results.
The downside is that you'll start on a new account and won't be able to port over your progress from your Wargaming account, a state of affairs that's hampering the game's review scores on Steam. To try and make up for that flaw and rank up accounts more quickly, all Steam players will receive discounts of 20% to 40% on vehicles on the U.S.S.R., Germany, and U.S.A. tech trees from May 1 to June 1. There will also be special missions to complete for select vehicles and a x4 XP multiplier for the first win of the day from April 30 to May 3.
