Ark Survival Evolved

Starting tomorrow, Thursday, September 22 until September 29, all Epic Games Store users will be able to download Ark: Survival Evolved and Gloomhaven free of charge.

In Ark: Survival Evolved, players will find themselves stranded, freezing, and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK. It is there that players must hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, build shelters, and research technologies in order to survive the harsh terrain. Players will also need to hone their skills to either kill or tame the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures that roam the island.

The second free title, Gloomhaven, is the digital adaption of the acclaimed board game of the same title. Gloomhaven mixes tactical RPG and dungeon crawling and allows players to carve their way through terrifying dungeons, dreadful forests, and dark caves, all of which are crawling with horrific monsters. Gloomhaven is set in a unique medieval dark fantasy universe and allows players to either face the dark world alone or in online co-op for up to 4 players.

Ark survival evolved is great good to see it for free again, steam version which was also avaible for free is a lot better because of the extended modding support. Do not know what gives, but epic games never get released with the same quality as steam games. You can for example buy fallout 25 in epic games, but mods will work only in steam version. Ark had 0 mod support when it released on epic and it stayed true for next 3 years. I'm not even sure that you can get any mods working on epic version today, but i sure hope so because modded servers are where all the fun is and fixes almost all bugs with unofficial patch. There is also often separation between steam and epic playerbase, which kills both sides.
