MapleStory Maintenance

MapleStory is finally back online after over 35 hours of maintenance following the v.260 update, and the developers have issued a notice.

The downtime, which many players of the F2P MMORPG naturally found unexpected and frustrating, was triggered by the discovery of severe issues involving meso and item duplication. They emphasized that they are treating this situation with utmost seriousness and have already begun enforcing penalties on those who exploited the game.

So far, 228 accounts have been permanently banned for abusing meso and item duplication glitches, and all duplicated assets are being removed. Additionally, 233 accounts have been temporarily banned for repeatedly exploiting boss fights and Demon Slayer content in violation of the Terms of Service. The severity of each case has determined the length of the bans, and the exploited items are also being deleted. This investigation is still ongoing, with further actions to be taken as necessary.

To make amends, compensation is being offered, as is tradition. The gift includes 20 Special Medals of Honor, 5 Trait Boost Potions, 10 Experience Nodestones, 3 VIP Buff Selector Coupons, 2 Magnificent Growth Potions, 3 Luxe Sauna Coupons, 10 4x EXP Coupons (30 minutes), and 3 Sol Erda/Sol Erda Fragment Selector Coupons. Most items have a 7-day duration or are untradable.
