Star Trek Online No Win Scenario Event

On August 16, Cryptic Games will introduce a new event to Star Trek Online. The event is mostly new in its structure, rather than content, but it’ll definitely offer players something to do for a while. The “No Win Scenarios” event combines multiple TFOs designed to test the players’ mettle. Of course, one of them is the infamous Kobayashi Maru Space TFO. The other is the Ground TFO, Arena of Sompek.

Players will have two weeks to challenge themselves in both these operations and earn rewards while doing it. Specifically, players can get their hand on the Sompek Energy Rebounder, TFO reward boxes, and Dilithium Ore. There will be bonus rewards as well.

The Rebounder, boxes, and Ore are all part of the event grand prize. The Sompek Energy Rebounder is designed using technology from the Arena of Sompek Holodeck simulation. But its uses aren’t restricted to everyone’s favorite playground. They’re far more practical. The device produces a highly destructive laser. When activated, it deploys two stationary turrets that face each other and facilitate the Rebounder firing, wounding enemies with heavy Plasma Damage.

The other two items included in the grand prize items are incredibly useful in their own right. The 3 Featured TFO Reward Boxes will each offer players a choice of 1 x Specialization Point or an Enhanced Universal Tech Upgrade – giving players a chance to improve their stats. As for the Dilithium Ore, players will receive 25,000 of those and can use them as they see fit.

As mentioned, there will also be bonus rewards. These will become available to obtain once a player has acquired the grand prize. At that point, players can earn additional Dilithium Ore on a daily basis until the end of the event. The bonus starts with 8,000 ore for completing the first day and goes from there. So, it’s one of those, “do more, get more”, situations.
