Trion Worlds Announces ArcheAge Server Consolidation

For about a year, players of ArcheAge have been discussing the fact that it might be time for Trion to look at server mergers. Now, Trion has announced that that is exactly what will be happening. According to the announcement, the developer took some time deciding to consolidate the servers due to the fact that it would require players who own property to give it up.

This isn't a case where players on one server would simply transferring into an existing one. Instead, the servers being merged will be moved onto a new server. So everyone involved would have to give up their land. Trion is calling it "Server Evolution". The logic behind this is that if players who gave up their property on one server were moved to another where players already had claimed land, it would put them at a significant disadvantage.

There will be twelve servers affected by this "Server Evolution" -- six NA servers and six Europe. The plans are as follows:

North America

  • Ollo, Tahyang, and Salphira will be evolved into CONVICTION.
  • Morpheus, Nazar, and Hanure will be evolved into THUNDERWING.

Europe

  • Kyprosa, Dahuta, and Rangora will be evolved into TEMPEST.
  • Leviathan, Anthalon, and Sirothe will be evolved into RETRIBUTION.

Players who don't want to participate in the server merge will be given the option of performing a one-time, free transfer to one of the servers on their region. Information on how to do this is available on the merger announcement page.

another cash grab ? just like the last new servers and server merges scam always bring in more $$ from the fools still playing or wanting to try a "fresh start "

PithyOrange 6 years ago
Don't forget they're also adding more servers soon. Ultimately it will only be a reduction of 2 servers in total and of course server populations won't be increased by much if it all, because the trend of fresh-start servers is exodus en mass from legacy servers, which is even more likely after the frustration of the merge.

Another MMORPG merging servers. Surely they must realise that they have killed their games, majority of people have left and this is the only way to make the server seem populated?
Silly companies.
