Warhaven, A 16v16 Medieval Fantasy Title By Nexon, Debuts Official Game Trailer And Steam Beta Test Times
Formerly "Project HP", Nexon has finally unveiled more official news on the project.
Nexon revealed what was previously known as "Project HP" to the world through a gameplay trailer as "Warhaven," a large-scale 16v16 medieval fantasy PvP title. Surprisingly, a global beta test will be happening on Steam as soon as October 11 for roughly three weeks, according to the dev blog on the digital store.
We caught wind of the announcement from MMOCulture. Creators behind Durango: Wild Lands and Vindictus are behind Warhaven, beefing the game up with a diverse roster of melee-weapon and magic-based combatants storming the battlefield. In this way, it's a bit similar to For Honor but swings into the territory of chaotic 16v16 arena games. Players will transform into these preset characters called Immortals to wield supernatural skill sets and team up with others to win against the opposing group.
Outside of marching into battle with a war hammer held high in the air, players can take control of ballistae, cannons, and other siege weapons to cut down enemy forces or bases. These will vary in use between the different game modes: "Onslaught" as your standard capture the flag, "Skirmish" pitting players against each other to secure their bases, and "Arms Race" where war machines must be protected and used to advance into enemy territories.
If everything you read sounds interesting, you should participate in the Steam beta test starting on October 11 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time until November 2 at midnight. To sign up, click on the "Request Access" button on Warhaven's Steam page. It isn't clear how many players can participate, but the developers will notify you about your access when or if they require more players.
