We May Be Getting Something New In the StarCraft IP According To Reports
Reports are that Nexon has the rights to work with Blizzard to develop new StarCraft projects.
Well… Here’s some potentially good news for StarCraft fans who have been waiting forever for something. Reports are that new projects may actually be in the works thanks to Nexon. According to a report from Korean newspaper MTN (translated by VG247), Nexon recently won the rights to create a new game using the StarCraft IP. The report states that the Korean developer and publisher will work with Blizzard on new projects. Interestingly, those projects may not be in the RTS genre, as according to the report, that’s not a requirement.
At this point, there are a lot of things we don’t know about what Nexon and Blizzard might be planning. They could make that RTS everyone’s been wanting. There’s also a chance we could end up with mobile StarCraft. Nexon also boasts a library of F2P games, which means we could see something along those lines. We’ll just have to wait and see.
