Guild Wars 2 Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary With A Launch On Steam...Finally!
Sooner or later, everything comes to Steam.
It may have taken a decade for it to happen, but ArenaNet finally decided to bring Guild Wars 2 to Steam. The company issued a press release today stating that the long-running MMORPG will soon be available on a third-party platform for the first time ever.
As a Steam launch generally means an influx of new players, ArenaNet has decided to introduce a new content bundle; the Guild Wars 2 Complete Collection. This isn’t a freebie bundle. It’s going to cost players $100 to get, but it does include a lot of content, including all three expansions and all five seasons of the game’s episodic Living World. Effectively, everything that’s happened in the last 10 years is available in it.
The game will release on Steam on August 23 – because apparently everything needs to happen that week. At the same time, viewers on Twitch will be able to get their first Guild Wars 2 Twitch Drops. These include outfits, boosters, and the obligatory purple cosmetic.
