Otherland Early Access Hours Away
Otherland, the off again, on again, free to play MMORPG from Drago Entertainment will be headed into Early Access on Steam in just under two hours (1 PM Eastern Time) after delaying that launch for a few weeks. While the game will be free to play when it launches, early access does require a purchase of a Founder's Pack. Packages range from $19.99 to $49.99 with the most expensive package receiving a private in game area you can access to undertake a special quest line that pays homage to the novels that inspired the game. This quest will not be made available until about a month after Early Access starts. No word yet on if that quest will be made available to other players at a later time.
Otherland features a sci-fi world with four classes; the Warrior, the Assassin, the Marksman, and the Energizer. Combat is of the action variety requiring players to aim attacks correctly if they hope to score a hit. One key feature of the game is the eDNA feature. Players must extract eDNA from creatures in the world to farm up materials for the game's crafting system (which does allow for cosmetic gear creation) and to create additional clones to protect you character's housing when you aren't playing the game.
Will the game stand out? Be sure to check back tomorrow morning for our First Look video. Until then you can check out the Otherland website for more details.
