Trion Releasing Player Names Back Into The Wild
If you're still attached to your character names in RIFT, ArcheAge, and Trove PC but haven't logged in since sometime before January 2017, you might want to pop into game some time this month. Trion Worlds has decided it's time to let other players have a crack at character names that have gone without love for a while -- one year to be exact.
The good news is that they're giving everyone a chance to hold onto their names. Players will have the month of January to log into their game of choice and assure their names are theirs for another... well, until Trion decides it's time to do a purge again. Everyone wishing to keep their names will need to log in at least once before midnight Pacific on January 31. You will need to log in to each character whose name you wish save.
Trion wants to emphasize that players will not be losing their actual characters with this action. Everything will be exactly as each individual last left it even if they don't log in before the 31. The only difference will be that players who fail to assure they've claimed their names will be prompted to rename their character when they next log in.
