Gaijin Entertainment is taking a stand against the rampant bots plaguing War Thunder.

The developers of the strategy combat game acknowledged the increasing presence of bots with unnatural behavior and accounts with suspicious stats. They're mainly used to artificially boost accounts for profit or sold as software to players who want to boost their accounts themselves. These practices obviously violate the game rules and negatively impact the overall gaming experience; souring War Thunder for the players.

To tackle the problem, Gaijin Entertainment conducted a thorough study of how bots operate and what motivates their creators. The team is actively detecting and banning bot accounts, relying on player reports, and working on improving the report processing system for a quicker and more effective response. Additionally, they plan to introduce separate categories specifically for reporting bots to streamline their handling of the issue.

While banning individual bot-linked accounts is a temporary solution, Gaijin Entertainment say they are committed to finding a long-term resolution. The team is considering implementing drastic measures like CAPTCHA for suspicious accounts to deter bot usage. However, their main focus is on the upcoming major update and Economy Roadmap updates. They assure the community that they are dedicated to resolving the bot issue as soon as possible.
