World Of Tanks' Boss Battle Against The Waffenträger Makes Its Return
7v1 fight against a teleporting, lightning-shooting behemoth.
Last year's pre-Halloween event in World of Tanks was "The Last Waffenträger," a 7-vs.-1 battle against the fearsome lightning-wielding Waffenträger and its horde of minions. This year, the event returns, with some added twists to make the Waffenträger even more diabolical.
The Waffenträger -- a heavily modified (to put it mildly) Blitzträger auf E 110 tank destroyer -- is initially protected by an impenetrable energy shield. Players will have to destroy its Sentinel allies, which drop plasma when defeated. Those can be used to overload four generators spaced around the battlefield, which will drop the Waffenträger's shield, leaving it vulnerable to attack.
If that sounds too straightforward, Wargaming has added another twist for this year's version of the event: the Waffenträger can teleport. Hey, when can we get a teleportation module for our tanks?
The event runs until October 11, and players can progress through four stages of progress to achieve the end reward of the ASTRON Rex 105 mm, a new Tier VIII Premium American medium tank. Players can also earn or purchase keys that let them take on the role of the Waffenträger against all comers. Learn more about this event on the World of Tanks site.
