WoW Guardians of the Dream

Hitting PTR today is the next major update to World of Warcraft, and this time players are heading to the Heart of Ysera in the Emerald Dream. The name of patch 10.2 is Guardians of the Dream and it contains a new zone, new raid, and new Dragonriding courses.

While players have seen glimpses of the Emerald Dream throughout the history of World of Warcraft, this will be the first large open zone players will be able to adventure around inside the MMORPG's Dream. Even so, this is still only part of the Emerald Dream, which is roughly the size of Azeroth in its entirety.

Players can expect to run into a new faction, the Dream Wardens, which of course come with their own renown track and rewards to grind. There's also a new fire owl mount that drops on mythic difficulty from the Fyrakk encounter. New quests include those revolving around the Titan servant Tyr.

A new World Tree was planted by Tyarande in the Emerald Dream, and players will be tasked with safeguarding it from Fyrakk and his allies who want to wield the power of the tree for themselves. The new raid will see players ascending the fledgling World Tree in an effort to stop Fyrakk. The devs stated that there will be dragonriding in the new raid. There is also a new legendary two-handed axe for players to get their hands on in the raid.

There will be three new public events in the Emerald Dream, with each one leading into the next. It sounded much like a Guild Wars 2 public event in the way one activates the next. Of course, this wouldn't be the first time WoW borrowed from GW2 **cough** dragonriding **cough**.
