World Of Warships Launches Temporary PvE Battle Type, Perilous Route
Fight off bots to protect a command ship.
Today, Wargaming launched a new, temporary PvE battle type inspired by the Convoy battles in World of Warships. Only this time, players of the free-to-play war strategy game are fighting off bots to protect a command ship.
The mode is designed for 7 players with Tier VIII to IX ships. No submarines are allowed. It also limits the number of each type of ship allowed to participate. Some are a little more flexible than others. For example, only one aircraft carrier is allowed to take part, while there can be up to five battleships. Players will likely want to go for a decent spread.
Perilous Route takes place on the Hotspot and Trap maps, where players will escort a damaged command ship to its destination. During the trip, there will be two stops for repairs, and players will need to complete one of three primary objectives. The battles will also offer five secondary objectives for players to complete.
The whole while, players will need to fight off attacking ships. At the end of the trip, there will be a final battle as the command ship is repaired to the point it can take part in the fight as well. Players do need to be mindful that the mission isn’t over until the enemies are defeated, of the command ship is sunk. If the latter happens, the mission has failed.
