Ark: Survival of the Fittest is a free-to-play spinoff of Ark: Survival Evolved that offers brutal arena combat like other battle-royale type games — but with dinosaurs! Originally a mod for the base Ark game, in Survival of the Fittest, 72 players vie for dominance on the island, forging weapons and taming beasts, while trying not to wind up on the wrong end of a spear or in a raptor’s belly.

Players start in a staging area where they can communicate strategy with their teammates, or just trash talk. Once on the island, it’s a mad race for resources, including dinosaurs that players can tame and ride to take the fight to their opponents from a superior position. As the match goes on, the “Ring of Death” shrinks, forcing players closer together and ultimately resulting in a final, climactic confrontation!

Developer Studio Wildcard sees Survival of the Fittest as a strong entry into the esports field and already has a structure in place to reward the best players. Every month, the top players in the “Survivor’s League” will take home a share of a $50,000 cash prize, and players can form teams to take on the jungle together.
