Genre: MOBA

Explosive Features:

  • Iconic NCSoft Characters
  • Swap Characters During Battle
  • PvP and Story Mode

Master X Master takes your favorite NCSoft characters and pits them against each other in some fast-paced tactical MOBA action! Unlike typical MOBAs, in MxM, you’ll be able to swap your characters during the heat of battle, using the innovative Tag System. Action elements, such as dodging and jumping, also play a part, and there’s no in-game item shop. Matches are designed to last for about 10 minutes.

Playable characters in Master X Master are drawn from many of the titles under the NCSoft umbrella, including Rytlock Brimstone from Guild Wars 2, Jinsoyun from Blade & Soul, Mondo Zax from WildStar, as well as additional characters from Aion and Lineage.

In addition to traditional MOBA PvP modes, Master X Master also boasts a robust PvE story mode, with special PvE maps that offer suitable challenges and rewards. Players can earn gear (that won’t carry into PvP) as they progress, fighting through boss monsters and other obstacles.

  1. well they closing this game down too just like city of heros….. January 31st 2018 RIP …. it was one of the best MOBA type games ever created …..WSAD movement , hero tagging , titan incarnate …..but NCSoft greedy as usual …..soo they did cash grab for 6 months and closing game….

  2. I was lucky to get into one of the Alphas. While many might have plenty of reason to dislike NCSoft, I have to say this is the MOBA I’m most excited for. It balanced individual and team gameplay, PvE and PvP, and movement versus range. Put your ideas about NCSoft behind, because the game design behind this game is top tier. Whoever is making it has the best MOBA gameplay concepts I’ve ever seen. No ramp up to a game, the action begins at level 1.

  3. Addertude, I think you’ve hit the nail squarely on the head there. Here’s hoping someone at NCSoft finally pulls the trigger and sells the City of Heroes I.P. to somebody who will actually treat it with some respect.

  4. I won’t be playing anything by NCSOFT after they closed down City of Heroes. Looking around on reviews from former employees on Glassdoor, they all say the same thing: the executives in Seoul force Eastern culture (executives giving unreasonable tasks at all hours of the day, along with long work hours into the night, which is the Korean norm) on the Western branches. Even one of the guys at Paragon (developer of City of Heroes/Villains based in San Francisco) said excessive meddling from Korea really put the hurt on development for Western audiences. His final statement said NCSOFT should have spun off CoH instead of shuttering it outright.

NCSOFT deservedly earns the ire of its Western players because of how poorly they treat us, especially when their own employees leave telling reviews after quitting.
