Dogs of War is a turn-based strategy game from Cyanide Studios, based on the popular tabletop game Confrontation. Players can choose from one of the game’s three factions; Ram, Lion, and Wolf, to build their armies. Each faction’s units earn experience after battles and unlock new powers as they progress.

Players can mix and match units in order to create their own team, but must be wary about losing too many units in battle. Allies who fall at the hand of an enemy during combat can sometimes be permanently lost. Dogs of War offers three modes of play including TDM, King of the Hill, and an objective based mode which has players attempting to assault or defend varying objectives.

Players must demonstrate leadership qualities and cope with frequent unexpected events related to the life of their mercenary company: desertion, tension between soldiers, and theft among other problems. To ensure that soldiers do not spend their free-time ransacking the neighborhood, players can send their units on missions between battles and in order to gain additional unit xp or gold.

Explosive Features:

  • Tactical Battles
  • Multiple Factions
  • Customizable Units

  1. This game is now open beta and I’m surprised why nothing was mentioned about it. While the activation process was pretty bad, this game is amazing. I think this game is actually going somewhere.
